OT Psychotherapist

I specialize in helping clients and their loved ones reclaim their lives and relationships from OCD and anxiety disorders. Whether it is your first time reaching out for help or you feel like you’ve tried everything, I have experience in working with various OCD severities and subtypes. If you are feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, or stuck, I can help you make scary change feel more manageable. l deliver cutting-edge Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) treatment through a practical and functional lens. I have formal training and integrate skills from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Therapy, Mindfulness, and Self Compassion into my work.

I have 11 years of mental health experience and have worked at several hospitals in the GTA including Sunnybrook Health Sciences, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). At Sunnybrook’s Frederick Thompson Centre, I delivered high quality OCD treatment in their outpatient service and was the first OT in Canada’s intensive residential treatment program for severe OCD. I pioneered the development and implementation of the Aftercare Program at the Thompson Centre and continue to work in this program, as well as contribute to OCD educational initiatives and training community clinicians.

I help clients cultivate a strategic and disciplined attitude to apply to your areas of concern. I will help you set realistic and values-based goals and live the ERP lifestyle. My approach involves accepting to learn to live with uncertainty, being gentle and understanding with oneself, and infusing some humour and lightness along the way!

I know and appreciate how challenging this work can be. I bring enthusiasm to my sessions and take pride in my creative and innovative approaches to care. I utilize a holistic, inclusive, and culturally sensitive lens. I will meet you where you are at AND help you take steps forward.

I have a special interest in working with minority groups, specifically the LGBTQ2IA+ community and individuals from South Asian and Arabic backgrounds.

I describe myself as a joker, basketball and music lover, and the right amount of weird!

When I’m not working, I love to play any sport or with my dog, cook and curate cocktails for the season, lose myself in a show, and travel.
